In Search of a Perfect Dog House

'Birds in the grass, alas; beagle on the roof, aloof.'

Well, since Baxter lacks Snoopy's acrobatic skills, he has to stay firmly on the ground. That makes the dog house construction much easier, and even better...you wouldn't need liability insurance. Plus, you can add a green roof, solar panels, and some other cool stuff, say a fan, to make it environmentally friendly and energy efficient ( 21st century's standard practice)...

To build a decent custom dog house, a few points need to be considered...

Strong - so it would not to be crushed by icicles or destroyed by neighboring cats
Weatherproof / Waterproof - dripping water inside the house is not that funny
Insulation - Just think about the chills in the dead of January
Ventilation- hmm... the cool breeze in summer...
Budget- if you have a million, build a one like museum which can display Monet. If not, a little humble barn house is perfectly fine. Consider a whirlpool if budget allows.
Interior decor- nothing is more important than a fluffy blanket  and a thick soft cushion.
Site Selection - Location, Location, Location...Far from tree branches that could fall. The closer to bone yard, the better.
Site Amenity - Old fashion fire hydrant is on top of  the list. Fresh water dispenser is essential.
Time-frame- Building a custom house takes time. For someone who wants instant results, go to http://www.doghouses.com/ to get one.
